Text Shortcuts using Best Practice

Adding an Autofill

  1. Open a test Patient
  2. Click on Autofill in today’s notes and Click Add
  3. Add in text for shortcut
  4. Select font, size, colour, bold, italic, underline etc.
  5. Add shortcut name – use # or another symbol so common words don’t trigger autofill text in your progress notes
  6. Tick available to all users (or keep just for yourself)
  7. Click Save

Importing an Autofill

  1. Open a test Patient
  2. Click on Autofill in today’s notes and Click Add
  3. Open PDF/Document in separate screen and highlight the text for the autofill then right click Copy
  4. In Autofill screen right click Paste into text box
  5. Select font, size, colour, bold, italic, underline etc
  6. Add shortcut name – use # or other symbol so common words don’t trigger autofill text in your progress notes
  7. Tick available to all users (or keep just for yourself)
  8. Click Save

Editing an Autofill

  1. Open Patient
  2. Click on Autofill in today’s notes
  3. Select autofill to edit and Click Edit
  4. Select font, size, colour, bold, italic, underline etc
  5. Add shortcut name – use # or other symbol so common words don’t trigger autofill text in your progress notes
  6. Tick available to all users (or keep just for yourself)
  7. Click Save

Inserting an Autofill

  1. Open Patient
  2. Click on Autofill in today’s notes
Option A – If you know the text shortcut type into today’s notes section and then press the spacebar

or

Option B – Select autofill you want to add in progress notes (click insert or double click).

Deleting an Autofill

  1. Open a Test Patient
  2. Click on Autofill in today’s notes
  3. Highlight autofill to delete and Click Delete
  4. Click Yes you are sure you want to delete
